Dave Hudson is a working actor, producer, and educator with nearly three decades of experience in film, television, and creative leadership.

As the founder of D. Hudson Productions, Dave has spent 27 years producing and directing commercial, corporate, and narrative content — shooting, editing, and leading creative teams on hundreds of professional projects. His work spans national campaigns for companies like GE and Valspar, regional commercials for large Health Care Systems like Memorial Health Care, and near 60 short films with his past Arts Academy giving him firsthand experience on both sides of the camera.

As an actor, Dave has appeared on NBC’s Chicago P.D., in national commercial campaigns such as Aspen Dental, AbbVie SkyRizzi, Rate, and recent booked on independent film Blueberry Muffin Baby. He understands what it takes to perform under pressure, take direction, handle rejection, and continuously grow in a competitive industry — lessons he now brings into the classroom.

Earlier in his career, Dave founded and operated The Skitz-N-Sketchez Arts Academy, where he mentored young performers in acting and stage production. That experience, combined with decades in professional production, gives him a rare ability to teach both the craft of performance and the technical side of filmmaking. During this time he and the students produced close to 60 short films and scenes.

Beyond the film set, Dave has worked extensively in schools as a substitute teacher, serving students across all academic levels — from Special Education classrooms to AP and honors programs. This experience has deepened his understanding of how differently students learn, communicate, and build confidence.
